YAY, YOU FOUND ME!

Welcome to Paris Sophie Art, I am so happy you're here. If you've gotten this far, I'm sure by now you know who I am and if not - it's Paris!

It is such a privilege to be able to share my colourful, expressive, abstract world with you. So first and foremost, thank you for being interested to find out a bit more about me and what I do. The world needs more people like you. The people who look for and admire artistic beauty in every corner.

I often think art can be undervalued in today's society - especially abstract art. But for those special people that connect deeply with an artist and their work, something magical happens.

To me, there is nothing more beautiful than having a one-of-a-kind original artwork, with an artist's entire emotive world poured into it, hanging on your wall and your wall only (*and yes, I am biased).

Now, I'm not saying go ahead and plaster every inch of your walls with original art (but hey, if I had the $$$ I probably would) but I will say when you find that special piece or artist that resonates with you - go for it. Buy the artwork, commission the piece and I promise you it will transform the way you view the world.

Now if I haven't bored you already with my art lecture (sorry!) keep reading below for a bit more about me...

I’ve always been a creative person and painting has become my primary artistic outlet in recent years. Art followed me strongly through school and I have a huge passion for artistic interpretation and curation, particularly contemporary art (shout-out to my high school art teacher, Ms Hollie). I believe this is why I am so drawn to abstract art and the subtle meanings you can convey from a simple paint stroke (or dare I say it, lack there of!). Painting expressive abstract allows me the most freedom to explore my emotions and create beauty from them onto canvas.

I don’t think there is an artist in the world who thinks they have found their limit – I certainly haven’t. Art is a journey of forever exploration, where there is always more to learn and places to stretch yourself. Whilst I fit myself into the artistic genre of ‘expressive abstract’ I don’t believe in a true sole style that so many artists feel compelled to adhere to. Sure, if I’m really loving a particular colour palette or technique, I’ll stick with it until I move onto the next. There is more to art (and life) than an aesthetically pleasing Instagram feed (though this brings me joy too!).

As an artist I experiment with different mediums, tools, light, surfaces and movement. And when I set-out with a particular direction for a piece in mind, you can guarantee it will end up completely different – and I love that. The creative process is never dull, sometimes frustrating, but never dull.

I create to explore my own emotions, to be able to stand back and be proud of something beautiful that is part of my inner self, I’ve brought into the world for you to enjoy. I love creating beauty that I then send off into the world for you to love. That is why I do it. To know there is a little bit of me and my journey in your world that resonates with you too, that you find beautiful.

There is no bigger compliment to me, than when someone tells me they love my work.
